these new xmods are seriusly low man. just how i want it. that means more sports cars can come out and more miniz bodies will fit, and u can finally lower ur nsx/corvette without shaving the whole inside and making new mounts for skirts. lipo fitment may not be good cause all the lower weight will be taken away though. i can see some serious potential. too bad i prolly wont get one

Well Rob @ Atomic Mods says he can't fit li-ions in. I have 3 ideas, 1 of which I know will work, one other li-ion idea, and the li-pos. Problem is, it's extremely tough to find li-pos that'll fit.

Well, it's easy to slap a pack on top, but fitting it in thev tray is a bitch. I still have to check out polyquest, but so far I've had 0 luck in finding correctly-sized li-pos to fit in there.

went huntin today and found these
they will fit in the width and u can stack two, even three since they are 3mm thick, and nimhs are 1cm thick. shouldnt be bad with 510 mah. only problem is availibilty

These 600 mAh HP LiPo cells will fit, sorry still no place to buy them that I know of yet. CBP had some that where close, similar size just a little less continuous drain current, but they sold out.

I use the Worley 170's in Epochs and IWCB ZZMT's but don’t think they would be worth it in an Xmod. You’d be better off with 4 E-Tec 210’s, two parallel-two series, for 7.4 volts and 420 mAh, they’re just a hair longer and thicker than the Worley’s.

Thanks CJ. As soon as some show up at my local RS I will pick up a couple, I have a set of the 600 LiPo’s left as well as some of these AAA sized LiIons.

I used them, 2-P + 2-S, with clear epoxy to insulate the battery ends for a stealth mod in this otherwise stock MR-02. LoL, it could still take 4 standard AAA cells and was good for more than a few laughs.

If you connect batteries in parallel the mAh and current delivery potential double and the voltage remains the same, while if you connect them in series the voltage doubles and the mAh and current delivery stay the same. So 2 cells in parallel give you 600 mAh at 3.7 volts and when you connect those two in series with two more parallel cells (2P-2S) you end up with 7.4 volts and 600 mAh .

As for current delivery lithium ion cells have a poly-fuse or PTC that limits current delivery as it heats up. The interesting thing is that although the temperature is preset for each cell size by the manufacturer, two 300 mAh cells in parallel can deliver more current than a single 750 mAh cell. You still don’t get current delivery anyway near lithium poly cells, so with a heavy Xmod you still don’t get to use the hotter motors.

That was my plan to begin with, but they still put out a measly 2 amps or so.

someone will find a solution. even if it means moving the onswitch.
someone will be advertising custom packs for it within 1 month of rollout. just a guess, but the rc18t also had an odd battery chamber. someone just made a split pack and hardwired the two halves together. there are lots of odd shaped lipos being put into new electronics now. not saying it'll be cheap. not saying there will be thousands available immediately. but it will get done. money to be made.

i do find it refreshing that ratshack claims to have increased the range and decreased the turning radius. looks like i can put the salt away now.
