Possible Nitrous?

Post by Red_Line »

I duno if this was posted yet, but is there a way to make nitrous on an XMOD, but using something in the controller, to send a signal to the car, to use more power from the batterys for a period of time? Like, not too long of the batts will obviouslly die or the motor might overheat, but is there a way to like connect a button the the controller to make the XMOD car itself to use more of the batterys?

Interesing question. But I doubt there's any extra channels in the xmod circuitry to allow this.

You best bet is possibly a timing circuit that senses when full throttle has been applied for more than x amount of seconds. Once that's triggered then an extra battery source kicks in to deliver the juice.

Given all this, this idea is sorta redundant given the propo throttle. Just put more batteries in to start with.

well ther is a mod to have something in the controller send a signal to the car making it get more power. here:

read that thead. it only makes the xmod go into the HI mode. It's a replacement for the HI-LO switch. More like an anti-boost mod. the xmod runs slow and then you press the button and it then runs it's normal HI speed.

ive read it and done it. that is the exact thing he asked for in his post too. its much simpler than wiring more boards up as well as more channels. great for high power cars :-o

Actully this guy on ebay was selling a mod kit that had a seperate battery source wired to the Xmod then when you went past a certain point on the throttle trigger it kicked the other battery in and acted as nitrous. I'll see if i can find it again and post it.

EDIT: http://cgi.ebay.com/Xmod-Electronic-NOS ... dZViewItem Ok thats it, its got free S+H and a free motor also. :-o

Dont waste your money on that overpriced junk...all it is is a kid who cant solder, and found some plans on xmod world to use a relay to power the motor with a 9 volt battery.
