bad xmod battery solder joints again?
tried moving the battery box forwards on my new evo.
the solder connection to one side of the battery terminals broke off.
just a heads up-maybe mine is the only one that will break there.
but i doubt it.
picture bottom right.

easy to get to- just remove the light grey topcover and 1 screw holding the circuit board in place.
what happpened to mine was-the tab on the negative battery terminal was too high and the solder joint too tall. when the battery box was pushed forward it sheared off the connection.
very easy to see if an xmod has this potential problem - take off front wheels and you can easily see both front battery terminal solder joints and the tab ears- through small holes in each side of the front wall of the tray.
from poking around in there i strongly suggest anyone tuning their car decide what battery tray position they like and leave it there. the wires get bent back and forth when repositioning the battery tray which will fatigue the joints rather quickly. i would advise against any last minute tuning of battery position before a competition or between heats.
