Xmod servo problems,Damnit!

Post by Tuner1989 »

Allright, every time i have my xmod elecs on and the tx on the servo just stutters like it cannot seem to center itself. Its starting to be a real pita. Ive resoldered all the connections on the board etc.

Do i have a bad pot on my hands?

Any help would be appreciated.

Which gen do you have?
(EVO is Gen4 btw)

Does your front deck have an "N" on it. If not you may want to get a later gen xmod (350Z, black skyline, scooby, NSX ...) I had that same problem with my Xmod. It was a White Supra

If if it first generation and not EVO then that is somewhat normal.

Lets find out more about this car.

What batteries you running?

What motor you got in it?

Have you done any RadioShack mods to it from stock?

You said you soldered connections have you done any Aftermarket mods?

Regular 1 gen xmod type elec's

My elec's are installed in my 1/43 ssmt at the moment it has torque out of its ass but this steering problem is holding the fun up. :?

No aftermarket mods what so ever Had the 3.3k resistors on there but took them off.

Running 4 nimh's radioshack's

Not sure the size of the ssmt motor, slightly bigger than a zzmt's

how old is the servo? if it's been around a while you may have a worn pot.
or it could be that there's some play between the pot and gears? if so you can add shims.
i used to be cool

Seems like there was too much force on the pot, loosened the rear end of the servo case and it is running pretty well now.

And on another hand i just removed the mosfets off my IW04 board successfully!

Woah nelly!
