hey guys uh I used the search fucntion and the differential in the evo it like is really stupid basically it comes apart but I have a question to have the diff working corrently does the pin inside have to be tight like a lot of friction? btw I already read te fix that evo diff thread it didnt answer my question.

that's not a bad question, but it's badly written. don't do it again!

basically you want the diff just loose enough so that it rotates freely, definately no more.
although having it a little tight for offroad purposes aint a bad thing.

well, I can have my differential tight and it still makes the horrible clicking noises is there any place I can get a new alloy or well made differential. I do not have a generation 1 xmod so I wouldn't be able to make my own.

sounds like you've already stripped the gears, or maybe it's just not holding together properly.

well, what should I do is there any place that sells replacement differentials? Is there any place that I can buy a better one, what should I do?

BTW thanks betty.k for all the help, and all you fellow pimps too.

Hmmm, As of yet I am not sure if you can get replacement parts for the EVO series through RSU. I don't own a EVO car series (I am going to assume you have a car) but do a truck series. If the front diff in the awd upgrade is the same you might be in luck. I personally can't say because I don't own one yet.

hmm the diff in the awd kit is the same diff that is in the truck maybe I can mod that diff to work in the car. Ill try putting the diff from my truck in my car tonight and I will see if it is compatible.

well, that diff does not look like it would work. I think the only way to make it work would be to turn the big gear around so the sprocket things are on the right side. would it be worth it to make the car posi track? like glue all of the diff together ( gears and everything) or would my cup joints break? Please help. sorry for double posting.

There will be a group buy starting up after the first of the year for Alloy Ball Diff if you are willing to wait.
