napalm is much more fun than a gen1.
The gen 1 isn't so bad, but the evo rocks it's world. The mini-z's have much more options, and the parts have better design. Get an Evo, or a Mini-Z if you can afford it.
There are Mini-X's I think that come with a 6 cell saddle pack. Very neet little cars, but probably dinky.

You can start by soaking it in Jello mix and then rub it down with Robinson lighter fluid.

it will turn your crappy gen 1 into an awd mini z

I don't know about miniz's but EVOs are a good buy
I wish I had one
EVOs :
are faster
turn sharper
lighter
have lower C of G
and hence handle better
This is compared to Gen1, NOT mini-Z

Actually my best Drift car is an OG Xmod. Get the AWD kit and the drift tires. Just make sure you are using the RED AWD gears not the white ones.Juzi's Customz wrote:could i mod it to make it just as good?
Don't discount a car as bad if it is an older car. Some of my favorite RC cars were some what primitive compared to todays cars. Learn how to drive the OG and it will help your driving of the EVO when you get one. Plus if you break any parts on the OG you can get Alloy within a week compared to 2 1/2 moths for the EVO.

I've got a Xmod gen 1 with, bearings, steering resistor mod, 3 x 2 stack of 7317 fets and a plasma-atomic motor with a 9 ro 10 tooth pinion.
Then I have a Xmod EVO with ball bearing s and a stage 2 motor set with the highest rat shack gears.
They are both the same speed. Basically, the EVO is better. I've barely done anything to it and it's just as good as the Gen1 that I've modded the hell out of.
The gen 1 turns a little better, but this is after changing a few resistors and centering the steering servo.
Also, with the gen 1, I had to replace the reap axle cup with an alloy one because the stock one couldn't handle the increased power. I also had to repair the servo extensively when I took it apart because it came with wires that were already half broken and came off with barely any pressure. There were problems inside the servo too. The gears on the gen 1 don't mesh all that well compared to the EVO as well. The list can go on and on.
The Gen 1 Xmods can be a good car but they take a bit of work and the same effort on another car will make the other car much better.
Go with the EVO. Better yet, go with a mini-z. You wont be dissapointed.
