On top of a propo SSMT.


Had a reason to go to t-r-u yesterday and finally saw the SSMT.
so i grabbed it and the black f150 upgrade.
Played with it for a few minutes and then went to work.

kokam 1200Mah 2cell lipo
Uncased Novak XXL
Uncased Novak Spy
Hitec HS-56HB
stock green ssmt motor/gears

I have to say this thing is a blast to play with. Very durable and with 2s lipo, damn quick as well.

Few Body shots. The Xmod F150 fits better than the SSMT bodies.
Way better scale. It's _almost_ feels like a 1:18th truck.






Encased everything underneath the chassis cover and
cut out holes for the rx, esc and battery. I'll get internal shots
tomorrow, going to bed now. For now the battery covers are taped
on. I'm planning on sealing off the electronics with some
silicone goop and hit the snow banks.
This was built for me to use.






Savin the servo. I spent a bunch of time cutting the front plate
all nicey-nice and then made a ghetto servo saver, but it works well.
I was banging it on chair legs all night long and not a peep from the servo.

De-casing the ESC and receiver to tuck them under the stock chassis arrangemant was a good Idea. I really have to invest in that 2PL I've had my eyes on for so long, you guys are just dumping aftermarket electronics into everything.

Nice! Very close to what i did with mine except i used 6 gp cells instead of the lipo and i put a big block modified motor in there (for the mini T)

Sucker is scary fast but i melted the gears together (just too much heat in there i guess) so im rebuilding it this weekend.

Have you thought about modding the middle of the gears to accept bearings? less friction

Actualy, i just picked up a set of bearings today for that reason. I need to make a new bracket to hold them and the red gear will sit inside of that so that i dont get the friction i had before. We will see how well it works when i get around to installing it.

clint, that's sick... very clean. if you had hidden some wires and switches i wouldn't have suspected propo electronics.

Shit, thats clean as hell.. heres my hunka junk, lithiums and a minit board. Added a pot into the steering, and its rollin.

It's FUCKING FUN with a wireless camera outside on snow, whilst you sit inside next to the fire place and look at the tv .

Batt fits nice and snug. 1200mah runtime=forever with this thing.


Cleaned up the wiring. And re-attached the clips for the
battery covers. All the wiring is behind the batt covers now.

I like it,, pretty much what i did but my electronics were slightly larger and i had to mount the gp cells a bit differently. Now you need to drop a 1:18 scale modified motor in there
