GPM Evo Car Diffs: Same front and rear?

Post by Namuna »

I know the GPM Xmods Evo Truck Diffs are the same thing for front or rear...But is that also the case for the Evo Cars?

is DXME100F = DXME100R ?

Thanks.

Nope. The rear diff has teeth for the spur gear on the same peice where it has the ring gear for the AWD. The front diff. does not have this and is slightly more narrow. If you try to shoe-horn a rear diff in the front, the chassis itself will interfere with the spur teeth, and am not sure(not tested), but I think the bearings sit at different offsets from f-r and wont sit right.

Another thing, some of the GPM rear diffs are slightly too long and cause binding in some instances. Also, some front diffs did bind up as well due to the delrin ring gear rubbing on the front A-arm. I have seen someone fix the front problem by filing the A-arm(alloy) a small bit.
