My xmod and hobby grade electronics.

I want to make it happen. My hobby shop has a micro esc that I am pretty sure would work with an xmod. All I need is a small receiver. But what about the servo? Can I just use the one that the xmod has? Or will I have to put a hobby grade servo in there too. I am using an evo xmod. I think it would be complicated to put a hobby grade servo in there. The xmods servo is weird with the 2 wires to the motor and the 3 to the steering pot.
Please help me out.
I really want a hobby grade xmod.
Thanks,
John

Your easiest conversion would be to put in a Kyosho Mini-Z board. And use the stock servo. I think ZZMT motors can replace the servo motor (I'm not sure). The Kyosho board will allow you to have hobby grade electronics with half the weight (or less)

I thought someone around here stated that the Mini-Z boards dont like hte EVO servos? I had heard something like that around here.

They will wire right up, but you need to use a black endbell n20 motor
to replace the weak yellow endbell evo servo motor. I used an iwaver
board..but the concept is the same as a Z.
Those motors are about 4$ online, or you can salvage one from
the servo of a SSMT 1:24

Then, buy a mini-z
Seriously though.. once you've tried mini-z, you'll wonder why you bothered with xmods for so long... at least.. I did.
