SHE BANG! SHE BANG!

yup, that's right! after a heavy soldering and swearing session (this is normal) ph2t got a whoa nelly installed on an i waver pcb. and the operation was a complete success! basically, it requires the removal of the stock fets, 2 wires to + and - 4 wires to the gate pads and 2 to the motor. speed is just noticably increased, say about 10%, but there's a big increase in torque. approx 30%. after nelly was installed the diff needed to be tightened, the extra torque is definately there! and the stock fets are the same layout as the ones used on kyosho pcb's, so internal fet mods will work. the only drawback will be the fact that the fets are located on the top of the pcb as opposed to kyosho where the fets are underneath.
so now i have the option of running a hot motor, just to check things out we threw in a fancy 35t motor and i was genuinely scared when i gave it full throttle!!!

i think i better learn how to control this thing better before going nuts on the crazy motors, the xspeed is plenty fast for me as is. and i'm yet to try the 10 and 11 tooth pinions yet!!

special thanks of course to mr "who's da master now" ph2t for the terrifying beast that sits before me!

so you are saying that the janki-z is just as useful of a platform as the kyosho?

bruce ya gota run the higher toofed pinions. especially with an extra 30% more torque at your disposal.

i expect to see another thread in the next day or two with you whining about how you broke you janki-z cuz it goes too fast.

the propo aint quite the same quality, but when you think about it you can buy 2 i wavers, and some batts for the same price as a mr01 pcb. and like i keep saying, it's plenty propo for me! and now it's faster!

now that i've spent over $100 on one car, i start to drive a little more carefully! not one jump yet...........

after further use i've concluded that the iwaver pcb has approx 1/3 the propo and range of a mr01 pcb. so far this hasn't caused me any problems and when it does go out of range it just dies like a bit, as opposed to a kyosho that runs uncontrollably.

Yea they do that too? you know the more I hear about the superior Kyosho electronics the less superior I think they really are. Since I've seen an Iwaver beat MR-02s I'm not at all convinced the Kyoshos have any real advantage over an Iwaver at all.

With both cars set up the same and equal drivers I just haven't seen the big Kyosho advantage especially when you consider the price difference. Vive le Iwaver!

this is what the bitch looks like now, nelly on top with the stikfas decals. it usually comes with screw lug thingies, but i opted to solder the wires directly to the pcb. i won't be swapping motors often and if i do i'll have a soldering iron handy. and trust me, there's some iwaver in there somewhere :-D

Yea, but where? Anything other than the board and the antena wire? Looks good though.

it is getting a little crazy! but here's some close up evidence that it's an i waver at heart! :-)

you can see the 2 power leads soldered to the v+ and v- pads on the pcb. and the 4 grey ones are the gate leads. and no more stock fets!

That is a great picture of the Iwaver board. Is there some indication on it that says what voltage it can handle. I asked about this on another forum and they said look for a little black box that has either 6v or 10v but I don't see that on my board anywhere.

don't sweat it br2ce, i resoldered the whole thing and pointed the wires the other war. i cut a small section of the pcb cover at the front so i could poke the wires out front instead of the traditional motor pad holes.

and idol? lil' willy hung epitomises what i think is a winner. you get all these stupid pretty young things pouring their little hearts out to win a contest where the prize is to become a recording company's bitchgimp. willy auditioned once, made us genuinely respect him for his courage, and scored a fat recording deal on his own terms. i can't even name the official winner.

same kinda deal with bruce idol, some virginal, christian golliwog was the official winner, but it's the guy that came second we keeps seeing on telly, getting gigs, and bopping paris one when she lands her skanky ass in town.....
