"twisted mind" huh?

Well i just sent an email to steve (the order inquiry guy) at toyeast asking him what he could do for me on the shipping cost of 10 to 15 units.

If he does me a solid, I'll sell the rest off to pay for the shipping.

How's that for twisted hmmmmmm?!

...And what's the deal with the frequencies on these things?

fully compatible with the 27mhz kyosho crystal sets for the mini-z. also at rcmart you can get the yeah racing crystal sets that have different (adjacent) frequencies to the kyosho ones.

bottom line, you can run a lot of them together at the same time.

the IW02's RTR sets were up for less than 24 hours before they were gone. I bet the IW04's will go before the end of the week.

I just got my two IW-02's chassis sets today!!!! review forthcomming....

What seems to be in contention is weather or not the IW02's have the brake function. The TE website says that the brake function is solely part of the transmitter (for the IW04) but fails to mention the TX dependancy for brake with the IW02....

go figure, but we'll know soon.............

For those of you who haven't spent much drive time with MR-02s (with brake function) I'll tell you this:

On the Kyosho MR-02, the brake function is part of the RX in the car. I use the same KT-02 TX unit for both MR-01 and MR-02s.

Secondly, I would get rid of the brake function if I could, and I may just figure out how to do it. It is much nicer to be able to get into reverse quickly than to be able to brake. But that's in a RCP track race type situation. Your mileage may vary.

yeah, i guess that's twisted. i'm not sure what he can do for you on the shipping, but if you order more than $300 then you'll get a 10% discount on the trucks themselves.

Alright, what's the lead time on these IWaver 04s? In other words, are they shipping these things out NOW, or is the page for a Pre-Order and they're supposed to be available 'soon' ?

Cause now, after the shipping cost the IWaver Monster isn't such a clear choice against the Mini-Z Monster AND if they're not gonna be available for awhile yet, then it's even more tough.

yeah, I've never had a problem with stuff not being in stock at TE. Bottom line dude, if it's on the menu, they have it in stock. This might not be the standard, but I've never had an issue....

Personally I would shy away from the IW04. My reasoning being that the kyosho madforce breaks quite easily (you've see my videos) so therefore the IW04 will turn to dust by me just looking at it.

Besides, I just bought another $60 worth of shit from rcmart.com to hop up my IW02.

The IW02 is cooooooool!!!!! No more fucking servo gears breaking. The servo saver is a god send!

Thanks I feel better now. :-)

Since these things do always sell out quick, I'm pretty much assuming I'm gonna miss this boat.

it all comes down to how well the 04 truck and tx perform. on paper, even at $77 shipped i think it's a much better deal. the iwaver pcb is supposed to handle the hotter motors (no turbos or fets needed). the tx with the 10 model memory, lcd display, digital trims, etc. is definitely a big step above the kyosho perfex kt-5. so assuming the stuff works as advertised (which i admit is tbd at this point), the iwaver is the better choice.

looks like there are a couple of us guinea pigs out here. best thing to do is to wait and see how the inital reviews turn out.

of course murphy's law... the reviews will all be great and toyeast will raise the price or the truck will be out of stock.

Post by KuZGuN »

The bad; IW 04 's are shipping 9 - 10 December

The good; All air ships upgraded to EMS.

And the ugly; We must wait a week.

Got my Iwaver 04 - Others have already received theirs and the reviews are starting.

I won't bother repeating most of the stuff. Haven't had time to do much with it. The body sucks big time (can you say zipzap packaging). But with the way it mounts it should be easy enough to mod a body to fit. I haven't had any problems with mine running stock. And the controller seems to be what was advertised. I just have to take time and figure everything out on the controller. Some of us are used to simple up, down, right, left (lol).

But again, you get what you pay for. I'm happy with it so far.
