i bet using a stronger motor with somewhere around a 27-30 tooth pinion plus that 2mm sparrow adapter will eliminate the belt.

edit: scratch that... the driveshaft is probably routed thru the belt for 4wd, unless the spur gear is mounted to the shaft itself. we need better pics.

from what i understood that's not a belt drive from the motor pinion, but some sort of inside-out gear that loops over the pinion and around the centre drive shaft??
i don't remember where i got that from though, so i could be very wrong...

Thats right, I kept thinking it was a really loose belt, but now I think that it is a gear.
