Practically stolen Skyline

Well I went out earlier today lookin' to score some red Pactra lexan paint for the Mazda shell that I have in the works for my Micro Street Force... long story short, I had already bought some candy purple and some flouro white to back it up with, and masked the body, but for some reason, in my mind, the purple was clashing with the red theme that has been seeming to permeate my RCing lately... So, off I go to the hobby shop of my youth, the place where my pops bought me my first real RC waaaay back in the day...

Needless to say, I DID score a can of Pactra metallic red lexan paint for my Mazda... BUT... while shooting the breeze with 'ol Mrs. Newmeyer about how it was funny that I used to be this little broke kid who would come in there after school to drool on all of her RC goodness, and now I'm this 30 year old with kids of my own, and more addicted to RC than ever... I spied, waaay in the back of a display case, with several prices penned in and scratched out, price being visible $15... this here Kyosho Autoscale race Skyline...

I had to have it!!! (damn red theme got me again lol)

Yeah... so now I actually have motivation to start messing with my Iwaver again... I figure I'll work it on the same timeline as my xmod project, but either way, surely be expecting to see some red alloy on this chassis in the near future...

maybe order another Nelly, another set of red nylocks...

almost like a lot of the cars that were in australia during the 70's and 80's.....
