king of bling

Post by z-beam »

heres the new car ive been workin on, i thought the pimps would appreciate a sample of what can be done with a little more room to modify... this thing has made me think about getting some experience with painting real 1:1 cars...

specs:mini z,all kinds of stuff under the hood, gunmetal with heavy bright silver highlight followed by tamiyas new ps-46 irredescant purple/green paint, some chop and bog (bruces word for putty or filler) and two tasty stones set in the front to sparkle like headlamps...

the stone is callesd iolite... this is not the same cut i used. this is a hexagonal facet, the ones in the car are a round facet...

so what do the pimps think? :???:

I'm lovin' it.

The paint is beautiful and very well laid, and the gems for headlights is a brilliant idea.

click! hogjowlz got me onto it, with the idea of putting zircons in rims... click!

i deal with a lot of stones... i had a bag full of what we call in the jewellry industry "accent stones". tiny 3mm faceted stones that are used in earings and to set off other larger rocks. i got some red (garnet) and orange (citrine) ones lying around as well.

as far as setting them goes, it would be real expensive time wise to get stones set into rims but for me to drill out and glue em into headlights was no problemo...

yo finks, payasso sounds like the man to talk to as hes allready in the states... but very soon my womans website will be up with our range on it for your women to peruse... we dont do anything but silver and semi-precious stones but some of the rocks we use are far more interesting than high end rubies, diamonds and emeralds...

thanks fellas for the feedback on the gems as headlights, i tried to backlight them with a light kit but just didnt look as nice. the stones lost theyre purpleness and became to gray looking with the lights in place...

do you reckon it could do with some vinyls or decals of sorts?
