review: Long-winded Diss of Superslicks fully loaded

Okay, I broke down and bought a SS fully loaded because TRU offered a free tuner kit with purchase (see other post).
These things are absolute crap.
The variable frequency feature doesn't work like the ZZ SE. The on/off switch on the car is a multi-switch with selections off, A, B, C. So you match the freq switch setting on the car with the freq switch setting on the controller.
For whatever reason, this method of multiple frequency selection must be screwing up the communication between the controller and the car. It seems like there is serious lag between controller use and car movement at best--sometimes it appears the car has a mind of its own. The lights don't always turn on when the car is moving forward, and the car doesn't always steer when the wheel is turned.
Maybe mine was a dud (it was the WRX, 27 mHz) but I'm not taking another chance until after christmas. If anyone else has had luck with these cars, congratulations.
