Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

i dont mean to rain on hotworldcustoms parade. but if you want high quality decals then you will go with a vector imaging program such as illustrator or corel draw.. this way your images are perfectly clear at any size.... so you basically will be able to resize to any size and not lose qulality... not only that but your file sizes will be much smaller also...

good call custombitbodys!
thanks for the info, you're absolutely right, vector is much cleaner, no pixelation.

re:
Bruce Patterson makes a good variety of decals. He's in Australia but his pricing is reasonable and his shipping is reasonable and cheap.

those are awesome... now you just need to find a suplier of HO bodys that will fit the bit... i think i till try to make some.. already have the templates for printing about 15 nascar bodys. but without a ALPS printer its kinda hard to get the detail and colors right on decals.. for those of you that dont already know what an ALPS printer is. It was one of the only printers that i am aware of that ever printed the color white, as well as gold and silver metallics provided you got the metallic cartridges... anyway that company stopped making those printers. you can still find them used. but if it breaks your SOL... i would buy one of these printers if i knew that i could afford it. better yet. if i thought i could sell 100 sets of decals i would.. i could charge 3.00 per set of decals shipping included and hopefully have it paid for.
i think it would be cool if a certain forum were to invest in one. and then let its users print decals on it for a modest fee. this way once the printer is paid for, all extra cash could go to site improvments/site owners pockets (just for keeping the site up and running
)
3.00 a sheet of decals would definately make some money now that you think about it.. an 8x10 sheet costs about 1-2 dollars depending on where you get it. and you should be able to get about 4-6 bit size decal sheets off of one of these sheets.. so for 4 that would be 12.00. 12.00 minus cost of sheet, and your at 10.00. ink costs.... a generous figure of 1.00 per sheet. and thats 9.00 for every sheet of decals you print....
(if you only do 4 on a sheet, i was auctually able to get 9 nascar sets on 1 8.5x11 sheet)

For once it was in the Models section hanging on a pin above the paint.bdebde wrote:cj,
What part of walmart did you find that in? I gotta try that!
I have played with the program that came with it and so for I don't like it.
#1 You CAN NOT import your own graphics you have to pay for the full version 9.99 + $3.90 S+H.
#2 To resize you have to resize each object one at a time in the kit version I'll see how the full version does when I get it.
#3 Default graphics can be resized to fit a bit/zip but text size smallest is 5 point but by changing the size manualy instead of drop down I got 3 point.
Hopefully in a week or so when the full cd arrives the issues I have with the program will be resolved.
BTW: the basic version cd in the kit is a business card sized CD.

Suprised I got the Standard edition in the mail Monday.
This version doesn't seem any different from the Basic that came in the kit except you can now import your own graphics either as clipart, gif, jpeg, or png. You can also use your scanner to import images as well. It came with more clipart but, it is still designed for 1:32 and 1:24 scale models. The text is still limited to 5 point and to rescale you still have to resize each object one at a time. It does have a nice layout for printing which is the only good thing for it.
Correction: I hate the print layout you can print one decal or a dozen of the same one
On a scale of 1 to 10 for us I'd rate it a 6 for a modeler I'd say 8.
