Pearlescent Paint

Got a question about painting or decals? Using an air brush or rattle cans? Wanna learn how to paint flames and take a good picture of it? It's all in here.

Here's a color changing paint that you can find at Wally-world or at Autozone. It's made by Duplicolor and it's called mirage paint or something. I used a black primer, but I'm sure if you use a grey or white primer you'll get a brighter color. The bottom color changes everything with this stuff.

Actually I never see this stuff in model/hobby stores. You're more likely to find it in a Wal-Mart type of store, or an automotive parts store.

That is unless you're buying it for a airbrush. my LHS stocks the prismatic paints made by Alclad right here in Tampa. (all airbrush paint)

it comes in a box with 3 cans.
black base coat
middle coat with all the color change flecks
and a clear top coat

it's usually 20 bucks for a set.

purple/green is a popular one.

midgetman, that jade basecoat looks pretty sweet.

here's a pic of the can:

that's the middle step but the other two steps come in the same sort of can.

I got mine for a steal!! $9 for all three cans.

Clint- the only reason I decided to try the grey basecoat was because I was out of the black!! But I'm glad it turned out the way it did!! One of my best jobs yet :-o
