Dodge ram body for an M18MT

Got a question about painting or decals? Using an air brush or rattle cans? Wanna learn how to paint flames and take a good picture of it? It's all in here.

Dodge ram body for an M18MT

Post by Clint »

Have had some free time lately to play with the airbrush.

So far i've just been spraying out patterns using frisket material and
it's been coming out well. I'm itching to spray some freehand effects I just
dont have the balls to attempt it on this body yet. I signed up for an
airbrush seminar this saturday at the local Hobbytown ussr - hoping to pick up some good tips. need more practice.

This is where i'm at now. Thinking of fuzzing in some blue and
silver around the lightning bolt and lay some flames shooting off
around the rear of each wheelwell. :???: The color i'm planning for the main body is a metallic gunmetal grey. i'm hoping it'll contrast nicely.

Dude, those flames look great. They're kinda cartoon-like, in a great way... like if the Mystery Machine had flames, it'd be those flames. :-o

Yep hue nailed it, its got that cool 60s style graphic art kinda vibe. I dig it. :-o

I don't have the balls to try any freehand stuff right now either. I played with soft mask stuff where a cut a flame pattern into poster board, and overlayed it in blue to white, but I haven't worked up the courage to try it on a body yet.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.
