I went to 6 hobby stores today and none of them carried that kind of putty. I called a few more and they giggled at me. Like, "Who the hell still uses that stuff?" They said everyone is on the epoxy, but I don't want that..........
I did find some stuff made by Hobbico called "Hobbylite Filler", its superlight and looks like it will work. It seems a bite soft though. I'll try anything once.
I'll let everyone know how it works out. I'm going to have to order that putty online I guess.

A hobby shop without Squadron putty?
Are you sure it you weren't in the beer store?
LOL I don't think I've ever been in a hobby store that doesn't sell Squadron.
If you are having a hard time locating Squadron try finding Testors Red Putty. Very similar to Squadron except it has less tendency to shrink over time. Because it shrinks less you can cover bigger gaps with it.
A trick used by 1/24 modellers is to take some plastic sprue [the framework model parts come on] and shave it down. Then take those shavings and mix with some liquid cement like Tenex 7R [personal favorite]. What you end up with is a goo that is fairly easy to apply and bonds to mosts plastics really well. It is also quite easy to sand and doesn't shrink.

I still can't get over not finding that putty today, it was strange to see the reactions I got from some of these people.
Wow! I never would of thought of the plastic shavings trick... I like that, might try that down the road...once I accumulate more plastic stuff.
This stuff I bought today seems to be working out pretty good so far, I'll get a better idea after it drys a few more hours or in the morning. Its called Hobbylite Filler, its lighter than air, really it feels like the jar is empty, its white and powder/marshmallow like. I put on a layer then let dry a few hours, then some more, then soak it with superglue. It hardens then sand away.....
