has anybody tried using old skool model techniques,
a roll of camera film.
pretty easy to find and cheap...

I've played with that stuff. It's extremly difficult to get that stuff to lay perfectly even, and since it's transparent you can see where the paint gets thinner or thicker.

Definately not reccomended. I'd stick with film, if you wanted it to be transparent. I just black my windows out if I want a tinted look.
