ZZ-M bodies --- Matchbox 'Power Scouts'

Alright, what's frizzen going on about now?

The Matchbox Power Scouts are a pretty viable option for ZZ-M bodies. Plastic, decent detailing, pretty good scaling. They're about 1/8" wider, and about 1/4" longer than a zz-m body. Wheelbase is a bit longer than I'd like, but it's not too bad.

Around $7, they have a motorized rigid 4x4 chassis, working winch is a joke, tires would be zz-m height without the lugs, fake beadlock rims, haven't torn one apart yet to view guts... But honestly, it's the bodies.

Blah blah blah, this jerk really likes talking to himself, blah.

TRU has three listed including a missle launcher but no pictures. I may have to stop and look...oh the buggy, there's one on ebay but the picture is really crappy.

So far I've seen them at a Meijer and a Target.

Here's an idea what they look like

1 AA battery, HO motor, 4 gear transmission, pinion/crown gear, dual slippers. Gears seem to be same pitch as ZZ.

Oh yeah.... I did see them recently. I wasn't even thinking of using the bodies, I assumed they were metal. When I saw them, they reminded me off the old "Stompers" line.

Thats also what I thought when I saw them "Stompers" I have a few old stomper bodies and they are vary close. I was even thinking they used the old Stomper molds.

I like the Land Rover - except the huge snorkel and wide fender flairs.

Those would be easy enough to fix. Snorkle delete would leave a small gash in the hood, so a little filler and paint, or put on an aluminum deck. It's a decent start of a Scaler, pimp it with some paint, LEDs and fiberoptics, throw on a HiLift and some other accessories... If you open the windows, you'll need to trim the roofrack mounts and the old rear mount location.

Besides, it's better than the ZZ LandRover body.

As soon as I find a Beetle, it will be mine. And I'll check out the rest of the bodies too, they seem to work pretty well for ZZ.

I was just looking at that and thinking, I really like the flairs and snorkel. Oh well, to each his own.

So, I yanked the door stickers off the box truck, nice door detail. Tried the box, but it's just flat. Lotsa flat. Anybody have some cool ideas for text or graphics?

Landy will probably just get existing stickers cut down, and detail paint.

Maybe take some bed sheet material, or some kind of cloth, and glue it to the sides as cargo covering. Then paint it with some flat paint.
I used a blue sheet and flat tan to make the rag top on the Cal-Looker, I glued it on with CA.
