Chassis Jigs?

Post by PimpFloyd »

I was just curious to see if anyone has built some kind of a jig to keep a bit chassis square and to help get the keep the proper wheel base when stretching a chassis to fit a custom body.

Thanks for any suggestions...

The one stretch that I did I came up with an idea that worked pretty well and was easy; I marked some straight parallel lines on a small piece of poster board. Then I took the pieces aligned and glued them to the paper (before gluing them to each other), when the glue on the bit was set-up I just pealed the complete chassis off of the poster board and since I was going to sand it and paint it anyway the little bit of glue and paper wasn't a big deal. Just soak the paper with water and most of it comes of by rubbing it with your finger, the rest a little sand paper or steel wool will handle nicely.

For my MAN KAT 5T chassis, I used a box with a hole cut in it for the T-case.
