Need Help putting SE lights in standard zipzap
I want to remove the lights out of my ZZ SE and put it in a standard chassis ZZ. Can it be done? Where do I splice in the connection? Will it work like it did in the SE?

I know there will be some serious electrical modifications.
the current se bodies lights plug into the chassis.
that mean's you'll be having to find new wires to connect to the lights, and probably not use the clip connection provided by the se body lights.
there should be a postitive, negative and ground wire you'll need to hookup, probably to a button cell.
may I suggest you do the DIP Switch mod ph2t posted.
I love those micro switches and can't recommend them enough.
with it, you can turn your lights on/off or turn on/off both lights and car and keep the charge in your battery just as you would by using the switch on the se's.

it can sort of be done but not quite as well as the se. youd have to get rid of the plug thing and run the wires to the motor circuit. i doubt the pcb used for the lighting will work so you probably will have to get rid of it or get some coincells but that will keep all the lights on the whole time.

I still stand by the Dip Switch mod:

the se's setup is pretty cool, but the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that the lights aren't seperate from the chassis.
in the Dip Switch mod, they're not either, but it's all contained on the chassis.
personally, my favorite is like how I have the bitPimps Truck setup, lights are switched on/off by a micro switch. all (button cell, switch, and lights) are contained within the body shell. so I can put the shell with lights on any car I want.
the other two, you limit your use in some fashion.
but those 3 methods are the best I've seen. The best being what I used on the bitPimps Truck (IMO), the next being Dip Switch for less clutter and containment on the chassis, and the last being the se's setup - which great for the clip, but sucks that it's dependant upon both chassis and body - making it the most limited setup out of the 3 situations.
