how to?

hey, just a question for you guys
im new at painting bodies,
so do you guys actually strip your bodies before painting or do you guys just repaint over the stock jobie?

That is all a matter of prefrance dude. Check out Miva's post and you will see that he strips, but also the huge risk in it. I personally put a single layer of primer on the car. Like CW stated to me a couple weeks back, it gives you a blank slate so there are no supprises later down the road.

what do you guys use to strip your bodies?
i tried once with a convertible porsche and it turned into redish clean goop
i was sad
so i didnt attempt again

I use "Easy Off" oven cleaner to strip, but I only do that on a total shit paint job.. Stock paint gets covered with a nice coat of primer.

if you don't understand what payaso said above, heres some more clear words. He means, he only uses "easy-off" on his messed up blotched paint jobs. If hes painting over a stock body with the original paint, he'll just spray it with primer to make the paint lay down easier.

ah i see, yeah i was planning on painting a couple bodies soon,
i just got a bunch of new ones, (new ones to us canadians)
went down to florida, figured id pick some up cuz i never seen em before in our local RS, but i forgot to check for the NOS motor and performance parts
oh well
