Stretch or chop?

Recently on another forum, a question was posed, where someone wanted to fit a zip body onto a bit chassis. This brought up my question for this poll. I would rather stretch a chassis to fit a body and keep the proportions of the body. Another person suggested that it would be better to chop the body to fit the chassis and make it look like a bit. I was wondering what others would do in this situation.

Bitsize rox. I like the look. its too easy to strech the chasis and put thousands of good looking bodys (ie. diecasts) on it. But its hell of work to get the body fit the bit - cutting, kitting, brushing. Thats the deal! That makes the difference between man and mice

well when you cut something its gona look uglier than when you started(unless you are really gifted) so id modify the chassis.

Some of us don't have the skill and/or time and resources to screw around with a body. Some cars look okay in bit form but others look outright horrible (like the s2000

) I like most of the custom bit bodies I've seen out there but I would still prefer one to scale.

if you want a chasis for scales why don't you take the "tomy limited" or the yokomo. Both are proportional and scale sized.

I hear bad things about the tomy limited and the puchi (besides the name ofcourse

) costs way too much for me.

i agree with bitracer.de i like the "superdeformed" look of bits. plus if you stretch a chassis you cant swap all the bodies so easily.
tomy has what 20 or 30 bodies to choose from?

My main gripe with tomy is the lack of american body styles, can't blame em since they're japanese
Like I said before some bodies look good, real good, but others are just meh. If I stretch a chassis and go through the trouble of doing it to fit one or two bodies, then most likely I'm planning on devoting that chassis to those bodies.

true. you would think hobbico would invest in making some molds.

I'm a fan of modifying the body, leave the chassis as is.
and what about those zz bodies I've been hearing about?
are they making american muscle car styles or what?

The zip zaps have been improved big time hog. Very lil difference, almost insignificant, between the zips and bits power wise. Hell you know all about the pcb swaps man. Honestly can you say you don't want a yenko or a challenger man? Here's hopin they come out with a gto soon.

the bodies are cool and ive pcb swapped zipzaps and put 3bats in and it still was sluggish. maybe the new ones have changed drasticly.

I like the idea that there are a couple size chassis.
That way, when you find a body you want (mod/buy/steal) you can choice which chassis fits best.
