Full suspension MT

Post by HirotoR34 »

Here's something I've been messing around with for a while now. I was hoping to get electronics for Xmas, but I'm a little strapped right now.....So far this is just a prototype and will probably change as I start adding the 'tronics..... Basically, It's almost entirely made from MT packaging and Xmod spare parts. It's pretty rugged, and cheap to build. The steering and suspension are suprisingly smooth and have stood up to 2 foot "test drops". The pain in the ass part was flipping the front axle so that both turn the same direction and making custom dogbones. I'll keep this updated as I go...Let me know what you think pimps....... :-)

Awesome man... It's like a baby E-Maxx...

Very cool project dude.. Will the fact that it's wider than it is longer mess with the handling?

Holy crap that's badass!!!! *drools uncontrollably* My first thought also was "Baby E-maxx" You must install dual motors.

Show it articulated. Then show a tutorial.

I'm going to use the front and rear bumpers to balance it out when jumping, but other than that, I don't really see any turning problems. The weight distribution is very centered, so hopefully she'll handle ok. I origionally thought about making it longer, but then I'd have to use a different rc body, and it wouldn't really be 1/64th. If it turns out to handle shitty, then I'll lengthen it.....As far as electronics go, I'm going Iwaver with kokam 140 pack, and micro servo. I was playing around with an Xmod motor, but it be a wee too big....... :-(

Whoa.

That seriously gives me a woody.

It kinda looks like you re-centered the driveshaft as well. that and flipping
a front axle are ZZMT nightmares. :???:

That's a pretty serious project, Hiroto... I love that it's all spare parts and ZZ packaging. This is another one I want to see in action.. even just video of one of those drop tests.

I've been tryin' to think of a way to use all the extra Xmod parts I have for a while. This definately says it can work.

I have a similar idea I've been trying to work out. I have a chassis cut and some other parts assembled, but I've been stuck on the steering and the ride hieght. Plus the chassis arrange of different internal organs.

I want to do the same type of set up utilizing some Xmod parts to give it 4 wheel suspension, but as a touring car instead.

Sweet work!! :-o

Man! 1 Hella project Pimp! :-o

If you hafta lengthen it, I'm quite sure you can take that same body,
lengthen & widen it to accomodate the chassis, afterall, that's one of yo
specialties Pimp .... 8-)

That kicks ass. I've done a lot of stuff with ZZ packaging, but nothing so extensive. I think its great to see someone else make use of all that extra plastic. :-o
