Post by Madrox »

I got the idea from Sessiz. Buy a 4AA Batt box with on/off switch from RS, solder a charging base to the wires coming out the box and Voila! Quick & easy, works great!

you dont need a stand alone. just get either a single aa holder or double aa holder from scamshack and wire it into the controller battery circuit. this can be done without solder. you also get a range boost plus the ability to charge a dual cell with your transmitter.

After a few weeks of use, I'm in love with my Piranha Digital Peak Charger. It'll charge just about anything. It's not all that portable, but you can't beat it for home use. You get true peak charging (not guestimates) for $50.00, with total control over and automation of your charge. And you plug it into an outlet and forget about it, unlike many peak chargers. My next test it to hook it up to my rechargeable hedge trimmer for ultimate lawn care run times. :-D

I've got that same peak charger BB. I went from the standard runtimes to getting 30 minutes runtime with an 3.5 and standard zz batt.

Yep. The Pirahna is sweet. My runtimes increased dramatically when I got it. I use 4 presets. Two presets are for 100mAH nimh batteries, at charge ratesof 300mAH and 800mAH. Two presets are for 50mAH nicads, at the same charge rates. I can either do slow charges for maximum runtimes, or faster charges for instant gratification. Slow charges yield run times longer than I actually play with my Bits at a sitting. I have no wish for higher capacity batteries anymore.

Buya motorworks at Walmart for $13 and cut the extra tabs off the charger. you have to hold the car down somehow tho. This is what i used for my dual cell before i killed it.
