Nah, building a dyno is project for the future, in the meantime, I plan to just clock some quartermile times with a stop watch.

Problem is I got to do it outdoors, and find a time when my wife or friend is willing to help, and that just hasn't happened lately. :(
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

I believe that a Zip/bit could go 16 mph or so....it would just take a really good motor (4.2, 3.8, or the Phast motor from RCmod), KIT racer gearings, FETs, a paralleled layman's tricell, and of course, some really soft grippy tires.... :-)

EDIT: a little advice on calculating speed:

I calculated that, with the setup I mentioned, it would go at least 20 mph...

motor rpm= 38,000, cut in half with load, then back up to 38000 with FETs
KIt gear ratio= 3.43:1
Rear wheel circumference= 4 cm

38000 times 3 (tricell)= 114000
divided by KIT racer gear ratio= 33236.2 wheel rpm
times wheel circumference= 132944.6 cm per minute
convert to inches by dividing by 2.5= 53177.8
convert to feet by dividing by 12= 4431.5
times 60 to convert feet per minute to feet per hour= 265889
divided by 5280 to convert to mph= 50 mph.....well, maybe not...but you guys get the idea... :?

lol, everyone knows that no bit will go that fast. It's just a theory though....And besides, when a little car goes that fast, I doubt you can run after it to chase it... :-)

But it will at least take it to 15..... :-)
