If the PCB is good in your "bad" car, a PCB swap would be the easiest solution IMO.

The other easy solution would be to try to find someone with an extra controller to buy/trade. They may even have an extra one for free at Radio Shack.

As far as swapping crystals on the controller PCB, unless you know what you are doing you might end up with 2 controllers that don't work.

hte polarity of a crystal does not matter-at least not on my 1/10 and 1/18s- the only thing that that you owuld need to switch is the crystal, but i wouldnt really suggest trying to swap the crystals.

Was talking about switching stuff on the controller and using the other controller. And just leaving the cars alone. (using the good 49Mhz car)
