aight, so a brutha switched PCBs out and it was coo, steered and drove perfect, except for the part where i mixed the steering wires up. I figured no prob, just go in and switch the magnet around. It was glued in there pretty well, so a kinda had to use some force and bent the arm. thats no good, so i just got another one from my box and put that in. It was brand new and exactly the same. no binding, nuttin. I put it all back together and the car barely steers. Im all like...whaa? I wiggle it with ma finger and its smooth as butter, returns perfectly.

any explanations?

when you're turning the wheels with your hand, do they turn as far as before?
when you're turning the wheels with your controller, do both sides, when turning, seem equally "weak"?
how'd you put your new magnet in?

make sure you don't have a glob of glue over the side of the magnet.
if your steering arm isn't hitting on anything, and you know the arm and magnet are good to go - then I'd start guessing at those wires coming from the steering coils to the pcb, maybe one's broke? or maybe the connection after re-soldering isn't so great?

So did you switch the magnet around before you installed the new arm? If you did, I'd switch it back. You could also try using the steering spring off the other bent arm you're not using..

Aight so let me get this straight;

The replacement arm/magnet is new not re-glued correct? And the mofo's being a beligerent bitch huh... i'd say crack it back open and make sure that the return spring isn't out of position, with the added pressure of the bit's weight it may be causing it not to turn propa... ya feelin' me!

So basically when you're holdin' that mofo up in the air and flickin' that shit wit your finger, there's nothng to keep it from tuning and returning back to center position.
Or I could be full of shit and have no idea what the hell's goin on lol... oh wells.
Let us know how you make out.

hmm i still don't get it. It just feels like a bruthas steerin isn't get'n juiced hard enough. I soldered them kinda (really) sloppy :oops: but it worked when the magnet was the other way. I might just have to go and buy some RE mags and see if i can get more power. Just so strange. I still got ONE workin ride tho, so im coo.

bro: put the steering wires back in correct places on the board and re-reverse the magnet. maybe the circuitry cant handle bein reversed. that mechanism is the achilles heel of bits.
