Still trying to make this POS useful, I decided the easiest way was to use some of those batteries I got from Namuna and dual cell it - I did.
Leaving everything else the same - it was basically just a dual celled POS still.
Moved to my next thought. The gear on the motor itself is huge (see page 1 - kinda), and putting the normal black gear wouldn't touch to the other gear. I decided to hack at the chassis to allow room for the motor to scoot forward - and used the tabs from the batts, wrapped in electrical tape, to push the motor forward and off the rear casing. I could now put in my motors with the normal black gear. It's still basically just a dual celled POS.
The only left that could be holding this thing back is the pcb, I'm not going to transfer a pcb off a good car to shit car just so I can say the POS is somewhat useful.
Did I mention I hate this OEM Thunderbold Bullet Crapper Benzo, from chassis to the body - it's a POS.

Karl, I got the 100HP batt as well out of a "tiny little racer" clone and it's really only a 20mA rated batt. I'm building a charger and running tests on the times I get and for a 45second charge @ 1.1A I gets 6:30 from a tomy 50mAh. With this POS I get 2:30!!! Crappy batts 'dem is.....

you're not using those white bullet gears are you?
if not, you should definetaly see a major increase in torque and speed if your dual cell is working right.
