well, probably the 2 biggest factors are time and money.

bits, we can afford those no problem, we'll drop $60.00 and get a crap load.

real cars, uh if you want some serious performance parts, bye bye to anything under a $100.00, you can spend well over $10,000.00 on an engine, etc. it's way too much cash for a hobby.

then there's time.
most of us are married, which means we have wives to attend to - if we had a car sitting out in the garage to be worked on, we'd be divorced because that takes a lot more time than modifying a bit and running it for 15 minutes.

don't get me wrong, if I had the cash and the time, I'd much rather do a real car, however I have none of that. lol

that's my reasoning anyways

BCG's and ZZ are far cheaper to get and modify. If I did to a real Gloria what I did (make into Pickup, see my contest entry) the cost would have been several thousand dollars. If I did that my wife would kill me. A Shen Gloria cost me about $15.00 for whole car. The Modification cost me about 2 hours and about 5 bucks in supplies.

Big difference.

When you grow up you may realise that you need other things than a flashy car to make your life worth living.

wordup bilbo

when you get old you have bills to pay and dropping a grand for an extra 30 hp isnt an option. dropping 9$ for an extra 500hp is.

When I was younger, I was into fast cars, and motorcycles. It's too much money... I used to work on my Fire Bird Mon. thru Fri just to race it from midnight to about 2 am Fri, and Sat night.. Same with motorcycles..

Burn out the tranny racin, and get a ticket, and you just got yourself a 1,200 dollar night...

Unless your wife's into racin, you're not into racin.. If I had unlimited cash, I'd be all over it again...

I think you can really determine the ages of most of these people just by their typing skillz (or lack there of). There is a vast amount of difference between the way i type to a 12 or 13 (sadly even 14yo) today. But im glad to see theres pimps of all ages in the Bit business, keep it comin guys.

oh yeah, im 16
Later guys.

Just turned 30 this year, so I guess I'm in the middle somewhere. As far as us older guys playin with little cars, I would think that most of us have real cars and spend plenty of time and money upgrading them.
As for myself, I'm more into motorcycles now than cars. I spent way too much money on my real cars over the years, and never got any of it back in the end.
I could have used all that money to take my family on vacation, or bought a boat.
