Tomy multi-band controller
Ok guys so I got this sweet little honey yesterday and here are some of my thoughts on it;
Pros
Takes the place of 4 controllers (obvious, but one of the best features)
Better design than stock controller ie; more ergonomic
The buttons rock, 8 points of movement
No clicking when buttons are depressed, lack of momentary buttons (pics coming soon)
Saves money on batteries lol
Cons
Only one, that I have so far... Range sucks!
But we already knew this, Telescopic antenna mod is a must.
As far as the mod that hog loves so much, the battery mod... unfortunately that may prove to be a bit more difficult. Because of the cases streamline design, and 1 battery being on each side of the back of the controller (for those who aren't familiar with this config. pics coming shortly) it leaves little room for anything inconspicuous. Time will tell though.

Ok sum pics...

hog; I agree there is something to say for the bullet controllers, I like the fact that they've got nice range to begin with. and believe it or not I don't have a 57mhz chassis! I can't believe it myself, I got;
1 - 27mhz
3 - 35mhz
3 - 45mhz
I mean i got 4 cars that aren't even open yet... I figured that at least one of them was a 57.
Anyway 27 and 35 get about 9ft. w/ the stock ant. and the 45 gets a little over 11ft.
We'll see what happens when I put the tele on.

sweet pics!
I know that telescopic antenna will work wonders, it did for DaGeneral.
p.s.
got my new motor back from MS today, think they gave me a 2.2 instead of a 1.6.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

DaGeneral put his in place of where the old one was, it not only retracts, but then pivots at the base, so the antenna sits across the top of the controller length wise. He seems to like it.

Yeah thats where I've got it on all my standard controllers, thing is they're further to the left than on the multi-cont.... it looks betta that way! Especially when it's collapsed... maybe it's just me, I'm a bit af a perfectionist lol.CaboWabo wrote:DaGeneral put his in place of where the old one was, it not only retracts, but then pivots at the base, so the antenna sits across the top of the controller length wise. I hear ya, I am too.
DaGeneral's is a multi-band, it's in the middle of the controller, when it's put in its down position, I never notice, because its "put away"
the antenna itself is a bit larger than say bullet controller antenna's, kinda makes you look like you're trying to control you bit on Mars, but it definetaly works, and doesn't look anywhere near as dorky as the flimsy wire antenna's that twist and coil like a pair of shocks. I hate those things, I feel like I'm supposed to be cyber fishing or something, I just need metallic bait. lol
just my opinion anyway

i gave my kid my tomy controller. the good thing about that flimsy antenna is that it wont poke any eyes out.
all of my clone controllers have magnets epoxied to the tip of the antenna.
this is beneficial in two ways.
1: when you get metal stuck to the bottom, you have something to suck it off of the car with
2: i can pick my ride up by the 2nd battery without bending over which is great when it falls of your table and is stuck behind it.
