telescopic magnet...

yup i ripped the idea off directly from using one everytime i was at my friens shop which is littered with little pieces of metal.

if you use jbweld to glue it on it wont come off.

I'm guessing that there's no difference in range.. Cool idea.

It's done... came home with a mission and added the tele-mod, what a difference! what once was short now is long... the range lol. it doubled no problem, approx. 15'-20' with 27mhz.
i went with the standard RS ant. that seems to be the fav, but i removed the plate that allows it to collapse. here's some pics to elaborate;

(overview shot of new antenna attached)
the only thing i really did as far as modding the case, was to dremel the OG antenna slot out an 1/8" on each side.

(i'm ready for my close-up mr. deville)
the multi ant. plate is sandwiched in the slot where the OG RS pivot plate was.

and... last one

Correct, but one of my pet-peeves with the RS ant. (the one i had anyway) was that i had to tighten the damn thing all the time or it would flop around. now it's totally secure, it feels more rigid.

ya know I was gonna epoxy it in place... but after i put it all together i saw no need to.
what is keeping it from moving around was pressure fitting and the way that it's attached to the ant. plate.
