stock tires

why are the stock tires get better grip than the "soft" tires in the tire set?

I find that soft tires have less grip because there is less rubber in them therfore the rim its touching the suface harder causing more spin outs and less control.

I think it depends on the surface you are driving on. On a super-smooth surface, the stock tires have more grip because there is more of the tire's surface area making contact with the driving surface. The soft tires have a bit of tread and would grip better than stock tires on a rougher surface, like concrete or industrial carpet (the short, firm kind).

ya my super bit likes to spin out on carpet. on a smooth surface it pops wheelies.
