when the hell is tomy gona come out with motorized steering?
after buying two cars with motorized steering i am dumbfounded that super bits didnt get rid of the whole magnet electromagnet thing. it is so unreliable compared to a rack and pinion setup. i guarantee a muscle machines car would destroy a bit on a technical track. and once i figure out the best places to put more batteries in this biznitch i bet it will crush my bits in a drag.
for those who havnt goten a musclemachines yet: zipzap with beefier wheels and better steering is how i describe these things. they are gona be a little harder to mod but out of the box they are the best 1/64th scale out there in speed and handling.

Hog, you figure something out with the Muscle Machines you didn't tell us folks about?
Out of the box, the handling SUCKS ASS. It's about as straight as Richard Simmons. I'll definately agree about trouncing any other stock Bit though, these things have PLENTY of speed and torque.

ok first night i: took the damn supercharger apart and glued just the blower to the hood and i took it apart and put springs in it. man are these front ends tricky to put back together. there is less verticle travel so the springs are really stiff. after getting rid of the front weight and making the suspension l/r independant it drove straighter than any car ive ever driven. just by doing that i guarantee it would beat any bit on a technical track.
last night: i cut out the rear window and installed my handy dandy second cell. and let me tell you this is the most power output ive ever seen on anything this scale. it would actually skwawk the tires in fwd!!! it even drove straight. having a physical steering system is so much more reliable than an electromagnet.
and again this is the only micro rc where adjusting the trim actually makes a difference.
then after about 15mins of glory the thing stopped responding for no reason. i think i blew out a battery. luckily it was from the "test " pile. ill probably bust out some zipzap batteries for this bizitch.
but for those of you who like zipzaps cuza the wheelbase this is the car for you. they sit lower and are more rigid

Ya wanna hear a theory I got?
...Too damned bad, I'm gonna tell you all anyway. The front wheels, 'out of the box' have PLENTY of wobble and play. I'm thinking that's the cause of the left turn donut lovin tendencies (the wobblin gets locked in the left turn position and stays there).
When dear ole Hog put them springs on, I'm thinking he unwittingly took out that play and forced the wheels to hold their position and therefore the more 'true' the steering became.
...I gotta get me some springs.

maybe. i think the big culprit was all the front weight. i also played with the trim which to me seemed to be the biggest help. dual celled(weight in rear) this thing went across my friends hallway of doom(metal shavings and what not that like to mess with a bit) and went straight the first try.Namuna wrote:Ya wanna hear a theory I got?

Why do peeps keep ignorantly sayin it's 'front weight'? How hard is it to take the body off and run the chassis by itself (which I did and posted doing)? I got the same hard left turn shit with NO weight.
You're talking about the 'effect' of what happens when you put that rear batt on and the springs...But we need to get to the 'cause' of it.
With the more weight in the back (of the extra batt) and the springs in the front...You're holding the arms truer and the added weight in the back is probably evening out the force on take-off as well.
Dammit! Now I REALLY want some springs.
- Oh, and I just ordered me the ZipZaps SE (Savanna)!!!
