I'm using rear ZZ hubs on Tomy knuckles, of course the Tomy pins are too short. What do you Pimps suggest using for the pins (axle)?
Will I have to cut down the ZZ hubs?
Thanx!

That's odd, I did the same thing, put ZZ rear on MS knuckles, and had no probs with the pin length
Did you just drill a hole through the front of the rim? If so, that might be your prob. I cut the end of mine off, so it's flush with the edge of the rim. That's the way the stock ZZ fronts are. I didn't even have to drill a hole that way.
Let me know if that helps, 'cause I got another idea or two.

Why not just use front Zip Zap hubs?

I use the super small nails from "Lowes" #19 braids.. Cut em to the size you need and slap em on..

I did that with the first car I did, worked perfect but I have no more spare ZZ knuckles.

That's It Cavey!, I need to cut the hub. I've been modding bodies since Wednesday and didn't feel like going upstairs to compare, (lazy azz'd),
found it easier to ask! So I will have to cut them down.
Now how about an easier method of removing the old wheels from the knuckles?
Thanx Pimps,
Picked up a ZZ SE & upgrade kit today, they only had the RX7, that lil mutha is cool! It's pretty quick with the 2.1, can't wait to pop in dat 2.8 or 3.4 ! My son loves it, may let him have it and get another when more bodies are available (SS Camaro) ???
Well back to Da Body Shop!

My method looks crazy when I do it, but it works great. I take some large needle nose pliers and grab the head of the pin with the tips. Then I take some of those multi-guage wire strippers (mine happens to have a "hole" that the tips of my needle nose pliers fits through, but is smaller than a Tomy front wheel). I put a towel on the floor. With the axle pin head gripped with the needle nose pliers, I close the wire strippers around the tip of the pliers so I'm basically using the wire cutters as a brace to hold the front wheel/knuckle. Then, while sitting in a chair over the towel, I put the flat sides of the wire strippers under my feet and pull the pin out with the needle nose pliers. I've seen your arms, DT, and I imagine you will be able to do this without putting it under your feet and can just pull it out.
I had a lot of trouble doing this the first time, but once you've done it a couple of times, you know it will come out and ya just gotta get a good grip with the needle nose pliers and pull hard.

I've done pretty much the exact same thing (minus the wire strippers, I used needle nose in the arms to grab through) superfly, payaso was my witness, I think that's one of the easier ways for sure.

I use 2 pliers, one needle nose and another with a broader grip. I also touch the solderin iron to the head of the pin for a few secs and then pull and repeat.
