My first die-cast wheel mod
I've been seeing people doing these since I got my first bit. I wanted to try it, but was skeptical of the hard tires. I wanted something that I could come up with some kind of tire for.
So when I heard Dub City wheels fit bit tires, I thought I'd give it a go. I hadn't got around to it until now.
They are just the right size, but they way the stock tire wrapped around the back, it made the bit tires sink in the back, and have a very narrow contact patch with the ground.
So what I did was saw a couple bit rims in half. Then I sanded them until they were the right width. Cut the spokes out, and super glued them to the back of the of the Dub City wheels. That worked, but the tires wanted to slip side to side, so I super glued them on.
I'm really happy with the finished result, and have some nice interior detail to use later. I think I'm gonna pick up a few more of these cars.
