insane modding?

Post by CharG_tuner »

hey guys.. im new here but not new to micro R/C and bit char-g. ive been readin the forums for the past 2 weeks and looks like a cool place, so i finally brought myself to sign up. i also owned the long retired bitchar-g site 2 years ago (wow its been that long!) Bit galaxy. (find it on google)

well.. i was lookin at all the mod options, the mosfets, multi cellings. has anyone really tried doing a mosfet, then quad cell it? or dual motors aswell. what kind of power curve would this produce? i cant even imagine. or if it would be possible to run at a certain level, (like instant flips when tapping the gas), boy prop controls would be a must then. but anyway..has anyone ever tried...and/or plan to do this kind of thing? :???:

Welcome to the boards CharG_tuner.. That would be some insane speed.

I don't get into the speed factor that much, cause I'm more of a turning guy..

My ZZ SE with a fet mod runs plenty fast, and turns on a dime with the alloys on it...

You take the FET mod, and a pink endbell 3.8, or a Perfection 4.2, and it's freakin' fast. You add a dual cell, and it's a lot faster, but not twice as fast. You add a third cell and it's only slightly faster. Also by this point the car's too fast to control, and really only good for drag racing.

I let you in on my secret plan that's on the back burner. I gonna be a 5 cell funny car, with a mosfet bypassing the batteries around the PCB. I put this on the back burner until I can figure a clean way to cram a HO scale slot car motor in it, but shhhh! It's a secret.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

I just did a quad cell in my fetted SE. It is crazy fast, not sure how fast yet, my kitchen floor isn't big enough.

I've got a bit, dual cell with a perfection 4.2 motor (boostercar) and its very fast.
I think it might have a top speed of 8-10mph full boost but i cant be sure. I dont think a bit should go any faster than that (unless you drag race of you want it to jump ramps to see how high and do crazy stuff like that) as it would be too hard to control even on the bigest of tracks.

I have a tri cell under diecast... I think it works perfect, cause its super quick and easy to control caosue fo the weight, more like a real car than plastic bodies seem to be.. :p

I've got an SE on its way to MicroAmps, when it gets back, it gets a king 4.2, 3.5g Lithium polymer battery (3.7V), lightened, the steering improvement mod (did this with my other SE: it makes a HUGE difference), lowered body (as much as possible: still need to figure out how to locate the LiPoly cell), Bit Sprinter 6mm wide aluminum rims, graphite dust lubrication, and the X2 chrome body (internally hollowed). I'm also looking at making a bronze bushing for the drive axel to prevent plastic from melting and to keep the floppy rear axel perfectly against the gears.

Lastly, I'm putting in my red gear ball differential. More on that:
http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread.php ... post152364

For the charging connection, A HO train 4 prong female connector mounted in the rear window: 2 pins for charging the Li Po battery, an extra as the "on", an extra as the guitar E-string antenna connection.

How the connector will work:
You'd plug in the "antenna connector" and it will be the resonant length (1/32 wavelength = 6.7" @27.5 MHz) antenna attached to a male 4 pin plug. A second pin will be the connection between ground and "on".
With the antenna connector out, the battery is disconnected so I'll be sure to be shutting down when I put the car into its case (that's too short for the antenna without folding it up...). Also, with the antenna out, you'll now be able to plug the peak charger in.

:blazin:
Yeah. Like that.

Glad you made it over SPORTCAR.. Welcome.

Your set up sounds alot like mine, except for the rear diff. I'm loving the fact that we have another jeweler on board.

Can't wait to see pics of your ride when you get it back.
