Which motor to get?

I have only been "racing" (it's more like playing...) with bits for 2 months. All the stuff I have was bought on the web and came from US or HK to Portugal. I want to get some motors for my bits, but I'm not quite sure about which one's to get... I have the following TOMY motors: 1.6/2.2/2.6/3.0 and a Perfection 4.2 (btw this one is crap... My TOMY 2.2 runs hell faster than this one).

I have seen some motors at rcmod.com that kinda look nice but they have no brand. Are the other Perfection motors like e.g. 2.2, any better than the 4.2???

If someone can help I would appreciate!

A BIG THANKS to you all...

The perfection 3.8 series are a good motor. Very fast and good torque. THe perfection 4.2/4.2PROS are a mixed bag. I've found the perf 3.8 to be consistently better than the 4.2's

If you can score any extreme micro motors then get them. (www.extrememicros.com is no longer a retail shop). The EM38 Vanquish is the best motor in my stable.

Also the BitCharg-motors motors are good as well. I just got the bitcharg-motors 3.8 and I've heard great reviews about them. They are meant to be the most consistently fast motor on the market. You get them at tinyrc.com.

All the other perfection series of motors are crap, just get the 3.8's. they seem to be in a league of there own when it comes to the perfection brand.

tomy motors are reliable and great for dual cell bits. perfection motors are hit and miss, my 4.2's are only good for pulling apart to see how not to build a motor! my 3.5's actually perform best, better than my 3.8's

That's funny, my Perfection 4.2 pro is probably as fast as anything I've had, and has great torque too. Everyone else seems to have problems with them. Then the Perfection 3.8s I have weren't very fast when I got them, like the 2.6 motor that came in my first clone, but they picked up nicely with FETs, and they seem to just be getting faster and faster.

The BCGM 3.8s I've got have both been super fast motors, probably the most top end speed I've seen, but they were slow off the line, and my first one sorta died unexpectedly. I guess others have had theirs just stop working too.

Buying motors is like sticking quarters in a claw machine.
