It's somethng else on my todo list

, I got to investigate it a little more and see what the options are. Like for fabrication and ways to fuse plastics.
Post any ideas and findings you may come across on the interweb or elsewhere.

Yo there aint no stupid questions, just stupid answers. Lemme see if i can make this simple; Ok so the chassis that the Bits and other micros have can be considered a 'tub chassis', which in short is contained. Now as far as a 'pan chassis' goes, take away the containment (meaning the walls of the chassis) there by leaving a flat, plate-like sub-structure.

Umm plastics as easy to "fuse" you use heat and melt same as metal really, just plastics require much less heat.
Alternately you could use an adhesive to "glue" the t pieces together.
Another option is chemical bonding, similar to what we think of "glueing" except in this process the checmicals melt and bond the materials together. This is the easiest if you can find the proper chemical bond stuff, however it can be expensive and tough since i am still lost as to what the bit chassis is actually made out of.
I'm really not a pimp yo, more of a geek, hope this helps.

binaryterror has good options there.
I think I'd try 2 approaches.
-plastics, shaving and molding to desired shape and size, use epoxy to glue pieces together, that's shituff is strong!
-metals, I'd love to fabricate an aluminum chassis (much like how old 1/16 RC 10's moved from plastic chassis to metal). Aluminum is light as it is, you can drill holes in spots of the chassis to decrease weight, while structural integrity shouldn't be degraded. Then I could use that as my MadMax bit.
"this is my bit - it drives through concrete walls"

I'd love to have one in CF (carbon fiber) or some type of alloy. If I wait long enough, somebody will build it.. Then I'll buy it.

There's probably a few already out there, but just not in production yet. I have enough stuff on the burner right now to keep me busy till I can buy one...

Right off the bat, a 'pan' chassis makes me think...
LOW profile
Quite possibly the biggest BITCH about custom bods for the Bits is having to compensate for the 'tube' chassis...Or worse yet look at those high-rise ZipZaps...Those stock bodies look like sheee-at.
Could you imagine getting such a low profile Bit with a pan chassis as to make Phat Boyz bodies??!!!

I'd fondle Mother Teresa for that!
