Bit Steering problem

Post by JDM-R34 »

Hey I new here at Bitpimps, but I just got a Thunder Charger Bit and the steering is messed up, It turns one way but not the other, I took it apart and looked for any dirt or anything that might be caught in it but there was nothing, And I Have a Zip Zap and never had any problems before with that, so it must just be the car, :???:

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, sorry if it has.

Have you checked for binding in the steering , does the steering move freely by hand?

are the both of the tiny copper wires attached to the pcb ?

have you tried a different remote of the same frequency or tried the remote with another car ?

Yes the steering does move freely by hand, and all wires are still attached to the pcb, and this Bit is the only one that I have that is 27MHz, all my other Bits are 49Mhz.
A cool thing about this bit is that is is prettty fast (new motor and battery) but it has an internal antenna (stock) :???:
Edit** What if You doubled up the magnets on the steering, Has anybody done this before? just wondering what would happen.

ok take off the axle. pull the non drive side wheel off the axle. put some super glue in the hole and on the axle. put the wheel on. put the axle back into the car. squeeze the wheel so it fits right. wait 5 minutes. notice how your car steers properly and tracks straight.

the reason zipzaps dont have this problem is they use good glue on the wheels.

Ok I took apart my Thunder Charger (the steering part) and I found out that the reason it doesn't turn but only one way is because the magnet is only going to one side, I mean it's attracted to one side, I don't know how to fix this, has anybody ever had this problem, The magnet won't stay evenly in the middle, it stays to the right side. Do what betty suggested. Sounds like you may have a torn or bare steering wire, or even some solder bridging on the pcb. :???:

EDIT: Nevermind, Just fixed, I had a TOMY battery in it ever since I first got the THundercharger I thought it would be a good upgrade, longer life or something, anyways I changed the battery in the Thunder Charger to a clone bit battery, and now it actually steer's so it wasn't the magnet or any steering wires it was the battery, now it drives better than my ZZ's and other clones, it's great. Now it just needs a new body

Are you sure you didn't have a steering wire crimped somewhere and let it loose when you switched bats? :???:
Try putting that bit bat back in and see if it steers. Most times the clone bats have a higher mah rating than tomy's 50mah bats anyway so putting in a tomy bat aint really an upgrade. :-)
