Dual Cell
I got a soldering iron and I did the dual cell Mod and the problem is that it runs great on the charger (fastest I have ever seen a Bit goes) and when I take it off the charger and it runs like for the 3 inches then complety stops and it does work except on the charger.

well I looked over everything I did and I reread the instructions for CaboWabo's Dual Cell Mod and I didn't miss any steps or anything and I did everything it said to do but I noticed that the batteries were sizzling after the mod both in the car and out and so I guess I burnt the batteries out or something, anybody ever had this problem? I'll try again with some other batteries, and I'm not trying to sound like a idiot but I am just confused. Sorry Ya'll

Build a stand alone charger....JDM-R34 wrote:well I looked over everything I did and I reread the instructions for CaboWabo's Dual Cell Mod and I didn't miss any steps or anything and I did everything it said to do but I noticed that the batteries were sizzling after the mod both in the car and out and so I guess I burnt the batteries out or something, anybody ever had this problem? You can do that for a bit, just use the charging base from a bit controller...

Mm hmm....I linked to a tutorial on how to build one so that you could build a charger to get more power into the batteries....Charging off the controller isn't the best method if you want as much punch from the battery as possible.JDM-R34 wrote:nah thats not the problem, the problem is that the batteries are losing there energy too fast, right after it is taken off the controller, and I did the controller mod and everthing. so I guess I'll try a stand alone charger anyway.

If the car if losing it's energy right after you take it off the controller, and the batteries getting hot, then without a doubt, your shorting out somewhere. Those batteries are more than likely have suffered voltage reversal, and are toast by now. Though I have seen some batteries come back from the dead after they've had time to stabilze.
The most common cause of this is if you leaving the negative battery terminal in place, and covering the end of the battery with tape. The battery pushing against the terminal will make a tiny, unoticable holes in the tape. I've got to the point where I break that terminal all the way off, and coat the ends of the batteries with epoxy. If you completely eliminate a problem, it will save a lot of fiddling later.

Ok I pulled this dual cell mod off, it was successful! It won't pop wheelie's I guess because it doesn't have the normal ruber tires on it (i'm running on hotwheels rims the hard plastic ones) so it slides all around the place, and it has a slight speed increase, but not that much. This cars going into the swing and bling contest, I got a few more details to finish up before I post up the entry.
Thanks for Ya'll's Help
