does anyone know how to convert the zz controller so it can charge a dual cell??? i need help fast, im working on the dual cell right now.



also doing my dual cell, in connecting the dual cell to the contact points with wire, i got a couple questions about doing that, first is it ok if i crazy glue the wire to the contact? or if i stuck the wire between the contact and the plastic chassis, would it melt the plastic???


please help soon, dont wanna destory another zipzap.


100$ worth of zipzaps and a clone, and all i have to show for it is one working car, and a bunch of parts/bodys.

go back to radiosnack and get a single or dual aaa holder. it should be a buck or two and wire it in series into the controller. this will boost range as well.

without spending money, because i know you just resolder two wires inside a bit controller, to another place, and it works. someone once told me you pretty much do the same thing to a zz controller.

also i got this clone charger but its a stand alone one, it takes 3 AAA batterys. if i took the charger off of it, and put a ZZ charger on it, would that work?

You're gonna mod the zz controller the same way as a bit controller. You basically snip the wires from the charging base to the pcb, and then solder the charging base right to the battery contacts. I suck at explaining things, that's why the cops love me

"This mod converts your Bit controller/charger to be able to charge multiple cell turbo mod cars. The mod bypasses the controllers circuitry which normally regulates the charging voltage, allowing your Bit to receive a full 3V charge. Cars modified to higher than 2.4V may have to use the Stand-Alone Charger.

Start by opening up your controller. Unsolder or cut the wires leading from the circuit board to the charging base plate. Remove the ends attached to the circuit board. See the "X" marks in fig. 62. Resolder the wires to the corresponding terminals of the battery case. See the highlighted "circles" in fig. 62. Be sure to follow the color coding of the wires to ensure a proper connection. It is important to note that you will no longer be able to use the built-in timer, as you have bypassed it. Keep track of your charging time to avoid overcharging your cells. Charging time depends on the combined capacity of the cells used. "

it will charge faster and give better range for a buck.

i would spend a dollar but i dont feel like waiting till tomorrow when i can get to radio shack. well i finished thedual cell, with one broke wire, but i fixed it. now for the controller........*gulps*

you can for a temporary fix solder wires to an aaa bat and put it in in series with a piece of cardboard. the holder things are for convenience.

ok well everything is fine, i did the charger and the dual cell. but theres a problem, it runs on the charger but not off of it, whys that???

my friend said i fried it, but i dont get how, i did everything right. i have a 3 AAA charger, and i put it on the charger, charged for like 40seconds, then while its still charger, i tested to see if it worked, it did. then i left it charger for another 30 seconds, took it off the charger and it doesnt work!!!

try fresh cells

they are fresh, i tested them too, i got 1.2 volts from each, and 2.4 from them together.

i mean the aaas.

I'm thinking you got a connection problem somewhere's. Even if the car has no bat it will run on the charger.

i had th esam eproblem when i tried to do my first dual mod, i never figged it out i just assumed i F@##ed up the batteries trying to solder them.
