Lego Wheels

Alright, I was having trouble removing the Lego wheels from the lego's axle for step 7 so I improvised...

Basically, I got my rear bit wheels to look like this:

(rear)
First, I had to do was remove the bit wheels from the bit axles(hint: use pliers for the second wheel).

Second, I took the bit wheels and cut out the center part of the wheel with an exacto knife.

(left to right bit wheel, cut out bit wheel, lego tire, and really tiny center part of bit wheel, also paper clip up top)

Then, I put the hole of the part I had just cut out and stuck it on a paper clip to shave it down, so it would fit snugly into the center of my lego wheel.
To make the center part of the wheel not spin, just bend the paper clip where the bit wheel part is.
Make sure you do not shave it down too much, or else the lego wheel will just slip off of the bit wheel part(whats it called?).

Using the white wheels from here, all I had to do was take out the part I had just cut out of the bit wheel and put it in the center of the lego wheel

(left to right normal lego tire and wheel, lego tire and modified wheel, and center part of bit wheel)

Finally, I slid the modified lego wheel onto the bit axle and voila! you have an axle with lego wheels ready to go!
(make sure you get the lego wheel centered well, after you put the axle back on the bit)

Note: this is for the rear axle only so far, don't know how it works on front

edit: oops i accidentaly pressed submit...finishing post now...NVM DONE NOW!
edit: oooo this is in the wrong forum isnt it...srry...

looks good to me. could be tricky to get the front ones on with this method, but there's only one way to find out. :-)

Yarr I got it!

To slim the bit wheel(so it wouldn't effect the turning), I filed it down
Otherwise, I did the same thing from the rear on the front
Now, all I need are some springs... :???: (right now I just have the poor man's suspension)

credit to betty.k for lego wheel inspiration :-)

and payaso, that's cause somebody already moved it

thanks everyone
I actually still have to put everything together and try it out

edit: I actually went out and got rare earth magnets from radio shack, too
2 magnets per pack for 1.89, and the two of these were the same size as the stock magnet...so there are 2 magnets now http://tinyrc.com/qfm/racing/mod_09.htm#31
