Just got a Tech Spec, Big Block, and Vanquish Rotor motors from www.extrememicros.com

I haven't had time to really play yet, just broke each one of them in and gave them a quick spin.

So far the all seem like pretty strong motors.
The Big Block and Vanquish Rotor motors so far seem to be a great combo of torque and high-end.

I'll have more information on these babies once I gets to playin! ;)

This has always worked for me, for the first three consecutive charges I ran mine w/o gears and then once or twice with the gears on and the car on it's back. After that I just let her rip. I've been kinda conditioning it I guess too, before every run I've been giving it a half charge and running it w/o the gears to warm up the motor... to see if it has any impact on performance. It has been getting progressivly faster too after every run.

Good luck

For these particular motors I just followed the instruction that came with them.
which was:
charge car, run 1 time with no axle or spur gear until car is completely dead.
charge one again and run 1 more time with no axle or spur gear.
now you're ready. :)

let me know how they turn out or put some vids up. 3 motors and 2 bats for 20bucks isnt bad if they are really that good.

Well I've played with the Big Block motor now.
I love it!
It's about the same speed as the 3.8 I bought from bitchar-gmotors a long time ago, maybe even a tad faster.
It's torque kills the 3.8 - it's frickin torquey - there is no comparison at all.
It ran about like a dual celled 1.6 as far as speed is concerned and for torque, I'm not sure what to compare it to - my new blue 1.6 from bitchar-gmotors is about the same.
I think this could become one of my favorite motors, strong so far.

Next up... the Vanquish Rotor motor ;)

Just dropped the Vanquish Rotor in a my new ZZ RX-8.

The motor fit like a glove. In my bits I had to force it in.
The motor was faster and had more torque than the stock motor that came in the RX-8.
The difference wasn't super drastic, but definetally a difference, the Vanquish Rotor would beat the stock ZZ 2.2 Turbo(?) anyday.

For what it's worth I've run my big block for a while now and think it beats the hell out of my perfection 3.8. Have you run the vanquish against the big block or the perfection 3.8?

Cool to hear about the Big Block. I have a Bit Char-G Motors 3.2, and I had one of their 3.8s. The 3.8 was faster in the top end, but the 3.2 had so much more torque that it was more usable and fun. That's why when I had a choice to save one or the other, I went with the 3.2.

The 3.2 is faster than the Perfection 3.8, with much more torque. I have 2 Perfection 3.8s and one is almost as fast as my 3.2, and the other a little slower. I'm not at all satified with the Perfection motors. The new Zip Zap 2.8 Racing motor, is almost as fast as the slower Perfection 3.8 with much much more torque. I haven't tried the 3.4 Nitrous Express motor yet, but based on what I've heard, and the performance of the 2.8 I'm getting kinda excited.

From what you've said about the Big Block, that sounds like what I'm looking for. I have a small kitchen, and I don't like motors that take the entire length of the floor to wind up, because then I have to stop as soon as it gets going fast.

I got the Big-block too and it definetly kicks ass! My 3.8 from kyle is still by far the Mac-Daddy of the motors still... from what i've heard the Vanquish is pretty darn swell too lol.

The ZZ 2.8 and 3.4 are great too, the 3.4 is perfect with the red speed gears and a single cell. As for the 2.8, i used to run it in my dual Bit-Zap with the blue gears... I miss my dual... sniff, sniff :-(

I just updated my Motor Tests thread:
http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthread ... post102408

I put the Extreme Micro motors to the test and that Big Block sure as hell can pull some mA! I'll have to give them a couple of rounds of break-in perhaps cause I wan't even breaking 28,000RPMs with the Big Block.
