AE86 Trueno-PCB swap question

Hey, Whats Up Ya'll, I'm back, sorry been real busy, but I got this project Trueno going on now and I got some questions, maybe Ya'll can help.
It's a ZZ chassis, but I put in a Microsizer PCB, 200mah batt, and 4.2 motor, I've got the new PCB in, but I'm having some probs w/ steering, everything else runs (forward, reverse) the two coils though have two wires coming from each, correct? So I soldered the two wires coming from the left coil to the L on the PCB, and the 2 wires coming from the right coil to the R on the PCB, there the only two solder spots left on the PCB, so for some reason I can't get any response from the steering? What did I do wrong? it's prob something stupid, but any help is appreciated, got more mods coming if I can get this car to fully function, but please help.
Thanks,
EDIT: If it helps at all is was a 27mhz, now it is a 49.
PLEASE HELP,

I would re-check your wiring. I do know that most bits have a black streak on one set of steering wires, and the other two don't. I would go and check a bit you have that works and see how it's laid out. Then see if yours matches. Also check you're soldering job and make sure that everything is ok. If any contacts are touching, then It's shorting out. If you got pics post em...that always helps. Let me know what you find.

Alright so on ZZ steering coil wires there are black stripes on two of the wires, do those two wires go together, or are they opposites?
Thanks

Whoah, I was talking about bit steering wires. I'm not sure how those go. I would think that they'd be similar (just guessing) If you can't get them to work, I'd suggest scavanging bit coils and trying em out.
I just looked at the difference between the ZZ coils and the bit ones. The ZZ one's look bigger, so it may be a power issue. Maybe the bit board can't supply the same signal to ZZ coils. Again I'm just guessing

So do You suggest bit coils, my bit coils are fatter but smaller in diameter, ZZ are larger in diameter and skinnier. I rewired the steering wires and no luck, and I've been trying diff. magnets like rare earth, ZZ and other magnets from scrap bits. So I'll try diff coils now. Thanks man

The setup is the same.

Well I'm lost now, do You know of any reason why it may not be pulling to either side/working at all? Thanks
EDIT: anyway to take a wrecked SE and put propo steering on it and still have a bit PCB? Or have propo w/out the SE board, because I have one, but don't know much about their wiring or anything.

That's one of the funniest avatars I have ever seen.
At this point, I'm starting to get lost. I would look around and find others that have done the mod successfully. Search the forums here, and see what you come up with.
I'm still learning........

So I soldered the two wires coming from the left coil to the L on the PCB, and the 2 wires coming from the right coil to the R on the PCB, there the only two solder spots left on the PCB
Can't believe you guys missed this. There's the problem right there.
2 wires, 1 from each coil goes too V+. There are 2 black wires, but on some cars they go together, on others they don't. I usually do my own color coding before I take anything apart.
So you'll have to get it by trial and error. Solder one from each coil to V+. take the leftover wire from the coil on the left (driver's) side of the car, and connect that to the R terminal, and do the same for the other.
You should now have some kind of action, if it is weak on one or both sides, it probably is trying to push instead of pull, and you'll need to swith the 2 wires on the coil. (V+ with the R or L)

alright I gotcha now, think I can straighten all this out now.
Thanks, I'll let Ya'll know how it turns out.

i'm with dave, that thread was a difficult read!
generally speaking the 2 wires marked black (one wire from each coil) go together and are soldered to the V+ tab. the remaining wire from the left coil goes to "R" on the pcb and the remaining wire from the right coil goes to "L".

Alright I did what Ya'll said, and well It just pulls to the right side, and I can't control the steering, so it looks like I got a one way drift car which I guess works out since it does have a AE86 body. At least it pulls, maybe I can get a pic of what I did, and my ghetto soldering skills, and Ya'll can tell me how to tweak so I can control it just a little bit more.
THANKS for all the help.

If it just pulling to the right side, that coil is probably hooked up correct, and the other is pushing. The one that is pushing is the coil you need to switch the wires on.
