super bit controller problem

Post by yakboy »

Hi Pimps,

Got a problem with a superbit controller. It seems to be stuck on forward, ie; when you turn the controller on whatever car it's controlling wheels will just spin & spin. You can still use the steering. The controller button doesn't seem to be stuck so it sounds like it's electrical. Can any pimp suggest where to start diagnosing the problem ?

Cheers m'deers

Kinda sounds like the button on the circuit board is mashed down.
Could be "wear and tear", I've had a button or two go all wonky on me before.
If you push the forward button, does the button go down like it should (like it does for left or right)?
If you aren't sure, you could take off the cover of the controller and actually check the little black button on the board, see if it pushes down like the others.

Well I dunno about you, but sometimes I get all excited and mash them buttons down like I'm gonna turn sharper or something.

Sounds a lot like the classic super bit problem... range sucks and the car keeps on goin' when it loses range. I just got my first super bit recently, too... I didn't check to see if the steering still worked when the accelerator was stuck on, but I did take the knot outta the antenna and re-route it out the back of the pcb cover, instead of under the pcb, then wrapped on top of the pcb cover. Range improved greatly which made the "stuck accelerator" problem go away too. I'm gonna do the famous "Portland Long Antenna" mod on this bitch (Payaso, you know what I'm talkin' about), then it'll be sweet.

LOL.... The "Portland Long Antenna" is indeed long... Works like a mother too. My super bits have the last command remembered as well. just don't drive that chassis that much anymore, but I like the design of it.

Doesn't really sound like that's his problem though since he says...

To me, he's saying it's going forward no matter how near/far he his from his car or how much/little charge his car has.

Super Bits do have the last remembered crap command, but that doesn't sound like what he's expiriencing.
I could be wrong though. :???:
