(Please answer Yes/No)
This is for a plug-in charger.
1. Will a 4.5V DC 600mA (Output) charge a dual cell?
2. WIll a 4.5V DC 600mA (Output) charge a tri cell?

1. yes, nicely... I use 4.5V @ 1,000 mA for about 1.5 to 2 minutes, so maybe a 2.5 to 3 minute charge with 600mA... "until the batteries get warm" (not hot) is still the best way to guage whether they're charged or not.

2. barely, 6V would be better.

Thank you very much

actually you might be able to charge your tri cell. those plug packs usually give up more voltage than stated, check it out with a multimeter.

They will betty when not under a load, but the voltage drops down to about the rated voltage when something is taking power from it.

The rating on those things aren't very accurate. The actual output could vary greatly. Check the actual output with a multimeter. (Don't got one? Get one, they're handy for hobbies).

I have one with similar ratings, 4.5v 800mah, it's for a portable CD player, and it's actually putting out 6v. It's a tad too hot for dual cellls, but perfect for tri-cells

(Oops, just realized betty said the same thing in not so many words. )

Also, how long will a dual cell last? (cells/car)

if you mean how long will a fully charged car run for then the short answer is 15 - 40 mins. depends on the sorta motor, gearing, fets, etc.

No, like will they last as long as a normal cell would? not runtimes or charges, battery life. And would it ruin anything in the car? like the axle?

well i'm lost now. do you mean how many cycles before the battery dies? for nimh it's about 1000 cycles, depending on how you treat your batts.
