I´ll use the X-Trek Pro´s electronics...it´s not out yet...so this might take longer.

but i heard (and i saw a vid in the net) that the waiting is gonna pay out.

you might be wonderin "why not use the ZZSE electonics..." well...it´s because the ZZSE performance does not convince me. i´ve heard performance flaws that has been keeping me away from those things till today...

so before i go into compromises...i´d rather wait a while.

here´s silverlit´s X-trek Pro facts:

-dual cell out of the box
-good electronics
-big mofo motor 8-)
...most of all...it´s supposed to be cheap...(under 30€)

so...that´s why i´m gonna have ta wait and see...

anyway...i slice n dice like in old school - i use a file, hammer, caliper, jigsaw, sandpaper, screw tap, scalpel, etc...

a few pic´s of the slickster in action 8-)

But seriously, amazing.
Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

working with hand tools is not as bad as you think, i never had anything fancier than a file when i made all my suspension bits. now i have a rotary tool i rarely use it, the old hand working methods are more accurate imo.

and you expect us to believe you have a job and life huh???!!

nice work there! will you drill out those swing arms to reduce weight? it's looking like becoming a very heavy car.
on that note, will you cut out some material from the chassis and mount the batteries/servo recessed?
i used to be cool

good question betty.k.

it does look like "heavy metal"...but in fact it´s lighter than it looks...

i´m not gonna drill out those swing arms just to make sure they have nuff material to make it when they are stressed...the last thing i need now are weak parts...

...and to save weight, i´m gonna use a lipo as a power source. those things don´t weigh a thing...and theyre flat...so I hope to get a good COG.

...furthermore, i might cut out the chassis as well...it depends...i´ll wait on that...

...these hands are magic...if only the ladys knew how skilled them hands are.....

ahem...

yeah...of course you can work that precise with metals too...

...just think of what the greek, romans, egyptians etc. achieved without all this modern trash...

it´s just so hard to believe because nowadays people automatically think of machines when they see filigran work...

look at this brooch for example...

Image

the material used is ivory...the technic used was carving - micro carving to be precise...and this masterpiece is roughly 300 years old...

get my point? - you can handcraft about anything...all you need is patience and time...
...huh?...
